Cold DraftTM is a secure multicurrency
draft printing system with the following features:
- Multi-Branch WAN operation – The
system is written in Visual Basic and Winsock and uses
industry standard TCP/IP protocols for communication from
client to server. The system is designed to provide excellent
performance over a standard 64K leased line connection.
- Laser MICR Encoding – Drafts are
printed on customized laser check stock with flexible security
features appropriate to the issuing bank. The customizable
check stock has numerous optional security features, including
holographic logos, fluorescent fibers, void pantographs
designed to show VOID when copying, border copy warnings,
and color stain protection. The MICR line can be printed
with magnetic or normal ink cartridges, depending on whether
magnetic or optical character readers are being used.
- Secure User Authentication: Each
user is assigned a login ID and password, and appropriate
access rights.
- Centralized Control of Exchange Rates:
Exchange rates are controlled by Treasury and can be changed
at any point during the day to reflect current values.
For exotic drafts or draft amounts over a specified base
equivalent, the operator is prompted to call Treasury for
the commission and exchange rate.
- On-Line Signatures: Signatories must
authourize a draft on-line in addition to signing on paper.
Signatories are classified into A and B categories and
each draft must be signed by at least one class A signatory.
- Full Audit Trail Management: For
each change in draft status, an audit record is recorded.
. The normal audit sequence for a draft is Entered->Printed->1
Signature->2 Signatures->Exported. Drafts may also
be voided at anytime before being exported to the banking
gateway. The audit trail is only visible to signatory level
users.
- Banking Gateway: Banking transactions
are exported to a gateway file that can be directly imported
into the banks main system.
- S.W.I.F.T. Reconciliation : SWIFT
download files are imported directly into the system to
reconcile accounts with correspondent banks.
